* CANCELLED * Casula Cleanup on the Georges River

Georges River at Casula

Rīvus, the 23rd Biennale of Sydney explored the vast tributaries of connection between rivers and people. Rivers are the sediment of culture. They are givers of life, routes of communication, places of ritual and congregation. Over 4 and 5 June, 2022, the Biennale headed to the Georges River at Casula with multiple displays and performances exploring community connections to the river, as part of the River Project. To give something back to this reach, the Biennale of Sydney is partnering with Georges Riverkeeper for a community cleanup of the river foreshore on Saturday 2nd July. Recent flooding has deposited litter throughout the site, a reminder of how people's impacts on the environment are concentrated in rivers. Come along to donate some time to assist the Georges River which gives us so much. We'll meet out the front of the Powerhouse Arts Centre, which is right next to Casula train station. See you there!
