Litter collection recommenced

Georges Riverkeeper truck collecting rubbish bags filled with debris

We are pleased to announce that Georges Riverkeeper's partnership with Corrective Services NSW has restarted after COVID-19 restrictions have been eased across the catchment. Buses are hitting the road again in December!

Rob Dixon, Georges Riverkeeper Project Coordinator and Environmental Officer, has been busy making sure that everything is in place for recommencement including a new digital reporting system.

Offenders will be removing litter from over 230 sites throughout the catchment, helping to achieve our goal to maintain and improve liveability in the Georges River catchment.

Bush regeneration in the Fairfield Local Government Area will also restart, with a new contractor currently being finalised.
