The Lower Georges River Sustainability Initiative brings together innovative projects and an execution of programs that demand a combination of best practices, the right technical support, leadership and community action.
Sustainability is not 'easy.' It’s fuzzy and dynamic. The journey towards sustainability involves lots of people (community groups, households, businesses and councils) making lots of big and small decisions about how they work and live.
Behaviour change is a key strategy, and we need to know how to do it better. So this sustainability initiative is largely a social process rather than exclusively an environmental or technical project. We can’t do it all for everyone, so we are taking important steps on initiatives which can be self-supporting beyond the life of the LGRSI.
